Driven by a desire to preserve the legacy of Sarafina! and harness the transformative power of art, Echoes of Originals was founded by Lindiwe Dlamini and Nandi Ndlovu Goodjohn, original cast members of Sarafina!. They were joined by fellow original Sarafina! cast members Baby Cele, Ntombikhona Dlamini, Lindiwe Hlengwa, Zandile Hlengwa, Sboniso Khumalo, Linda Mashishi, Thandekile Mqadi, and Kipi Skweyiya. Drawing upon their extensive experience performing on international stages, the founders recognized the profound and lasting impact that artistic expression can have on individuals and communities, particularly those facing vulnerability."
